Never really know what to put in stuff like this so…

Hi, I’m Shalimar. Maybe you ended up on this website after searching for convention coverage or someone I interviewed? If so, congratulations!

As for the history bit, I began writing reviews for the community site DooYoo and then… progressed? I eventually wrote for Box Office Prophets and had a column (What Went Wrong/Right).

I ended up joining MCM Buzz in 2010 after an e-mail went out asking for people to be involved. My role as writer turned to Sub-Editor. This soon led to writing content for the MCM Comic Con showguides and MyM Magazine.

In May 2016 a merge with MyM Magazine resulted in the website being rebranded as MyM Buzz, and I eventually became a Contributing Editor.

MyM Buzz closed in March 2019. However, people contacted me and told me about wanting to read certain pieces that they enjoyed. So I’ve decided to post some of my features, notable news stories, reviews, con coverage and interviews up here for people to enjoy. I’ve also posted some photography and some new pieces. 

By the way…

• I like Finger Cream biscuits (why can’t you buy these anymore?), cake and Japanese Kit Kats.
• Am often told I write the best cosplay interviews (see what you think).
• Super Play was one of the best gaming magazines of the 1990s.
• I used to read Digitiser on Teletext in the 1990s (and I still read Digitiser2000 now and again).
• Fan of Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura.
