The start of the year saw Tomy release Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card merchandise as a part of their Parfait Mimi line. Now Tomy has returned to CLAMP’s magical girl to release a set of Bluetooth headphones.
As reported on Natalie, on closer inspection, these are clearly not your ordinary headphones. Manufactured by leading developers of superior audio products, these are in fact Pioneer’s SE-MJ771BT model of headphones which have received a Cardcaptor Sakura makeover.
The headphones have a white outer body with a pink Clear Card motif and Kero silhouette on the outer ear. It measures 180mm high × 170mm wide, with a frequency response of 6 – 28,000 Hz and impedance at 32 ohms. It also features Bluetooth aptX, NFC and one-touch pairing with your smartphone. If you don’t want to use Bluetooth, there’s also a 3.5 mm jack cable. The foldable design also makes for space-saving storage when it’s not in use.
A premium Cardcaptor Sakura product of this calibre will cost ¥18,360 (about $173 / £122). The headphones are available to pre-order from Tomy right now until 28 May 2018. However, pre-orders could end early should they reach their planned supply. The headphones are scheduled to be shipped out in late August 2018.
Tomy does not ship outside of Japan, so if you really want to get your hands on these headphones then you’ll have to consider using a deputy service.
