When it comes to marketing the 3DS, Nintendo has previously had a helping hand from the likes of Arashi and AKB48. However the latest commercial for the New 3DS sees Nintendo team up with Japanese singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
The 30-second commercial features the track KISEKAE (きせかえ) and begins with Kyary saying, “Change the style”, referring to the fashionable faceplates (or ‘Kisekae plates’) which you can customise on the new 3DS. The commercial sees Kyary demonstrate the new faceplates, as well as interacting with Mario, Link and Kirby, changing their ‘style’ (amazingly Kirby uses his inhale ability on Kyary and in turn changes her ‘style’).

On Nintendo’s new Kisekae site, visitors can see the range of different ‘Kisekae plates’ on offer, with prices ranging from ¥1,000 to ¥3,000 (around £5 – £17), with Kawaii Kisekae plates coming soon.
Nintendo’s New 3DS is released in Japan on 11 October.
