LEGO announce Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set

To go along with the new LEGO Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts sets announced earlier in the year, LEGO has now revealed Hogwarts Castle, and it’s the second biggest LEGO set ever.

Initially revealed by Entertainment Weekly, Hogwarts Castle has 6,020 pieces, which places it just behind the 7541 piece Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon.

The castle includes the Great Hall (with stained glass windows and flaming torches), Room of Requirement (with the Goblet of Fire and vanishing cabinet), the Gryffindor common room, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom (with potion jars), Professor Dumbledore’s office (with Memory Cabinet), Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom and more. Outside the castle grounds, there’s also the Whomping Willow, Hagrid’s hut and the actual Chamber of Secrets (with the Basilisk and Tom Riddle’s Diary). Click images to enlarge.

It comes with four minifigures of Hogwarts founders, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin and Rowena Ravenclaw. There are also 27 microfigures that include Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Albus Dumbledore, Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall, Remus Lupin, Professor Dolores Umbridge, Argus Filch, Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange. You’ll also find accessories such as the Sword of Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff’s cup, wands and magnifying glasses.

If you’re thinking of getting one, the price of over 6000 Harry Potter licensed LEGO bricks comes up to £349.99. Even though it’s been shrunken down, you better make sure you have the space for it too, for the castle measures 58cm high, 69cm wide and 43cm deep.

Hogwarts Castle is available at the LEGO shop exclusively to LEGO VIP’s from 15 August 2018, and goes on general release on 1 September 2018.
