PUMA to collaborate with Hasbro to release Transformers trainers

PUMA has joined together with Hasbro to release a new line of Transformers themed footwear.

As revealed at Transformers site Seibertron, PUMA will be converting their RS-X shoe with the Transformers theme. The first to be released is one based on the character Bumblebee, to tie in with the release of the upcoming film Bumblebee, which opens this December.

A teaser photo has been released, which shows a yellow and grey design, representing Bumblebee, and the Autobot symbol on the heel.

“With nostalgia for the 1980s at an all-time high, we are excited to bring together two 80s icons for the first time,” said Nikki Gie, Hasbro’s EMEA Director – Fashion & Home “We hope fans everywhere will rock the Transformers RS-X sneakers when they come out to see even more 80s vibes in Bumblebee.”

“We are excited to partner with Hasbro to create a fun collaborative collection that will bring the iconic robots to life,” said Adam Petrick, Director for Brand & Marketing at PUMA. “Having achieved global icon status, Transformers make perfect partners to push forward stories of reinvention within modern-day pop culture.”

The PUMA x TRANSFORMERS range of trainers will be sold exclusively at Foot Locker stores, with trainers based on other Autobots and Decepticons to be revealed over the coming weeks on PUMA’s Instagram page.
