The Resident Evil video game franchise has spawned movies, novels, even replica airguns from the games. Now it has moved towards eateries, for just a few days ago, on the seventh floor of the Shibuya PARCO in Tokyo, Japan, a Resident Evil restaurant opened.

Called the Biohazard Café and Grill S.T.A.R.S, the menu includes dishes such as a Raccoon Style BBQ, a Red & Green Herb salad and S.T.A.R.S. Noodles. Drinks include a Code Veronica cocktail and Blue Raccoon mango juice mixed with vodka.

The restaurant also houses replica props and memorabilia from the Resident Evil universe, some of which can actually be purchased solely from this restaurant. Notably, there is also a large scale Tyrant encased behind glass. This cannot be purchased, but is actually part of a live show that is performed, along with the restaurant’s dancing waitresses, referred to as S.T.A.R.S. Angelique (their uniform has the S.T.A.R.S. logo on it).

A patron has uploaded a video whereupon the waitresses are seen dancing to the Spice Girls – Spice Up Your Life! Not quite sure how this relates to Resident Evil, unless this is supposed to be some sort of sign from Capcom indicating a different kind of apocalypse. Before you start wondering why we can’t get this kind of service at our local Wetherspoon, the dancing is stopped and an alarm starts to sound. The noise is to alert everyone that the Tyrant in the restaurant is trying to escape (!) at which point the S.T.A.R.S. Angelique whip out their handguns and band together to defeat him. After doing so they high-five each other and finish their dance!

Likely a large scale tie-in to coincide with Capcom’s Resident Evil 6 released in October, the Biohazard Café and Grill S.T.A.R.S. will only be open for a year.
