SCANDAL are set to release their first digital exclusive single KOISURU UNIVERSE. The four-track release is available to pre-order now from iTunes ahead of its release on Sunday 22 October 2017 in Europe courtesy of JPU Records, with the title track available as an instant gratification track. Or you can download from Amazon Music from 22 October.
KOISURU UNIVERSE is also currently being tied in with Japanese confectionery brand Bourbon, who have commissioned a special animated short music video created by director and illustrator Kousuke Sugimoto. In the video we see SCANDAL members Haruna, Mami, Tomomi and Rina transformed into rocking anime characters. In an interview with NEWS TV, each member talked about the collaboration as well as revealing what their favourite Bourbon confectionery is (Haruna loves Alfort, Mami likes Choco Anpan, Rina likes Fettuccine Gummi, and Tomomi likes Cubyrop).
As well as the title track, the other new song is FUTARI, plus there are live recordings of Kimi To Yoru To Namida and Koe taken from SCANDAL’s 11th anniversary show held at Billboard Live Osaka on 21 August 2017. The release date commemorates exactly nine years since SCANDAL signed a major record contract with Epic Records Japan and released their debut single DOLL, which is also available on the band’s recently released self-titled double best album, also out in Europe on CD and digital formats courtesy of JPU Records.
