It was during Sony’s press conference at E3 where they played the Pirates of the Carribean world trailer for Kingdom Hearts III. Following the trailer, they also unveiled a limited edition Kingdom Hearts III PS4 Pro.
So far the console has appeared on Japan’s Square Enix store and is available to pre-order from 12 June 2018, costing ¥58,082 (around £395 / $525). However, it also appears that Japanese buyers will have to successfully make it through a raffle scheme should they want to get their hands on one. The Kingdom Hearts III PS4 Pro console is released in Japan on 25 January 2019, the same day as the game.
The art on the console and Dualshock4 controller features a hearts and crowns motif and some of the weapons from the series. There are also symbols from the Kingdom Hearts universe, which run down the front of the console too (you can click the images to enlarge, but you can also visit PlayStation Japan to get a much closer look).
The 1TB console will also come with a limited edition theme bearing the same artwork as the console, a one month trial for PlayStation Plus and a copy of Kingdom Hearts III with an exclusive download code for a PlayStation variant of the Star Seeker Keyblade. The contents of the console may differ for other locations as soon as its worldwide availability is announced.
